Disney Gift Cards are only valid for purchases in the US.
Disney Gift Card Replacement Details
If lost or stolen, promptly call 1-877-650-4327. Your Disney Gift Card will be 'frozen' and funds remaining on the card (at the time of the call) can be transferred onto a new card. An original proof of purchase receipt for the Disney Gift Card is required to transfer the funds onto a new Disney Gift Card.
Disney Gift Card Cash Back Detail
If the Disney Gift Card has not been used for any purchase, it can be returned for the full amount to the original form of payment, providing you have the original proof of purchase receipt. Partial balances cannot be exchanged for cash.

DON'T ASK FOR THESE AS GIFTS
I would advise people NOT to ask for these as gifts if they are planning to use them on a trip to Disney World. The problem is that you will probably get a lot in small denominations. Then, when you call to order your ticket (for example, a 5-day ticket for $268) they'll only let you use one gift card. The rest will need to be paid for with a credit card.
